Aviagen Turkeys Inc. has an opening for a position within the Research and
Development Group: a Research Geneticist to be based in the US.

RESEARCH GENETICIST (LEWISBURG, WV USA)

The research geneticist will have a key role within the Research and
Development department in routine and experimental data analysis for
Aviagen Turkeys Inc.

The primary responsibility of the Research Geneticist is the design,
management and execution of research projects strongly oriented to the
implementation of novel methods and techniques in routine breeding
programs.. The ability to work in a team undertaking several tasks
simultaneously and the capacity of flexibly responding to queries to
provide support to the breeding program is essential. The successful
candidate will also assist in evaluating and implementing cutting edge
selection techniques and technologies in co-ordination with the Global R&D
Group.

The ideal candidate will have a M.S. or Ph.D. in Animal or Poultry Science
with specialization in Genetics.  This position requires good
organizational skills, a strong interest in hands-on work with birds and a
willingness to operate in both a farm and office environment. We are
looking for an individual with very strong communication and interpersonal
skills and with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team atmosphere.

This will be a full-time position located in Lewisburg, West Virginia, USA.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Remuneration will
be based on qualifications and experience.
