Subject: Post-doc position in spermatogenesis at Penn State
Date: Tue, 25 Jun 2019 14:56:32 -0500

Dear All,

A post-doc research associate position is open in my lab at Penn State.

A qualified and highly motivated individual is sought to fill the position
to conduct studies of spermatogenesis and sperm function using cattle and
mouse as models. The successful candidate will conduct research focused on
the role of the PRAME (preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma) gene
family during spermatogenesis and in male fertility. The projects will
involve generation and characterization of a conditional Prame/Pramel1
knockout (KO) allele using the Cre-LoxP system, and a direct Pramel1 KO
line using CRISPR/Cas9, as well as perform in vitro fertilization (IVF) in
cattle for studying the function of PRAMEY. This individual will be
expected to demonstrate the capacity for critical scientific thinking and
creativity, design and conduct experiments, perform sample and data
analysis, assist with student training, and prepare manuscripts for
publication. The appointment is funded for one year from the date of hire
with the possibility of reappointment depending on performance and funding
availability. The Center for Reproductive Biology and Health (CRBH)
http://www.huck.psu.edu/...ogy-health) provides a rich
environment in which faculty, research associates and
graduate/undergraduate students regularly interact and conduct
collaborative studies. As a Center supported by the Huck Institutes of the
Life Sciences, CRBH faculty and students have access to the Institutes`
state-of-the-art core facilities. Qualifications for this position include
an earned Ph.D. in Animal Science, Biology, Genetics, Molecular and
Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, or a related discipline.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and
be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States.
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in an
appropriate field and be able to provide evidence that all requirements
have been met for completion of the Ph.D. prior to the effective date of
hire. For additional information please contact me. To apply, please submit
your application via https://psu.jobs/job/88708.

With my best regards,

Wansheng
