Subject: Access details for the sheep High Density (HD) SNP BeadChip
Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2012 01:06:28 -0500

To: All Researchers Interested in use of the ovine High-Density (HD)
SNP BeadChip.

The International Sheep Genomics Consortium (ISGC) is currently
developing a next generation SNP chip capable of genotyping up to 700
thousand loci for the sheep research community. During 2012, the
consortium has completed whole genome sequencing and variant detection
using 75 individuals drawn from 41 breeds and wild sheep. The group is
currently working to complete SNP filtering and chip design. The ISGC
is pleased to announce that Illumina has been selected as the
manufacturer and commercializer. This extends the close working
partnership between the ISGC and Illumina that underpinned the
development and release of the ovine SNP50 BeadChip.

Researchers who may be interested to purchase the new ovine HD BeadChip
are now asked to register. This can be completed by making e-mail
contact with Karl Sluis (ksluisillumina.com), Cindy Lawley
(clawleyillumina.com) and John McEwan (john.mcewanagresearch.co.nz).
For those researchers who registered an interest earlier in the year,
we ask that you do so again. Key points and dates associated with the
process are listed below:

1. The consortium is aiming to complete the design phase within the
   next 4 - 6 weeks.
2. The current timeline will see the first batch of HD BeadChips
   shipped before December 31st 2012.
3. The reagent cost has been set at $US152 / sample for the first 12
   months.
4. To receive this consortium pricing, purchase orders need to be
signed in September 2012, even for BeadChips scheduled for delivery
   well into 2013.

For further enquiries about obtaining BeadChips or the design specifics
of the array, please contact Karl Sluis, Cindy Lawley, John McEwan or
James Kijas (James.Kijascsiro.au).

On behalf of the ISGC
