Hi All

CRI-MAP version 2.504 has been uploaded to the
http://www.animalgenome.org/bioinfo/tools/share/crimap/ web site as a
tarred g'zipped file.

This version is an interim version that is being released primarily as a
fix for inconsistencies between chrompic/fixed and twopoint. chrompic,
fixed and twopoint are now consistent. Previously results shown in chrompic
for two loci differed from those shown in chrompic and fixed. This
inconsistency has been removed. There are also a number of other changes -
see crimap2_504.doc for more details. Please note that the other main
difference between this version and earlier versions of CRI-MAP is that the
numbers of recombinations and non-recombinations are now integers. This
contrasts with previous calculations where the number of recombinants often
had a very small difference from an integer (remainder) e.g. by .001. It
was unclear as to whether there was a genuine reason for this or it was an
artifact caused by using non-integer types to store variable data. The
consequence of this is that log10likelihood values will be slightly
different to those given in previous versions of CRI-MAP. We are still
working on a more major enhancement to CRI-MAP that will be released as
version 2.6. Please notify us of any instances where the code does not
perform as you think it should - we have tested lots of cases but there may
be untested family types.

Funding for some of the time that I spend on CRI-MAP comes from a USDA
Agriculture and Food Research Initiative grant held by Utah State
University. Ian Evans kindly donates his time.

Regards

Jill
