Subject: Seeking a Research Biologist, Research Physiologist,
       or a Veterinary Medical Officer.
Date: Thu, 01 Dec 2022 11:58:50 -0600

We are looking for a Research Biologist, or a Research Physiologist
(Animals), or a Veterinary Medical Officer (Immunologist), who wants to
impact dairy cattle industry. This person will be part of a team seeking to
control mastitis. Research objectives are to identify immunological,
cellular, and molecular mechanisms that modulate dairy cattle immune system
and characterize mechanisms whereby pathogens evade the immune system and
cause mastitis.

The official announcement follows:

The USDA, ARS, Ruminant Diseases & Immunology Research Unit at the National
Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa, is seeking a Research
Biologist/Physiologist (Animal)/Veterinary Medical Officer. This research
group conducts basic and applied research to characterize immune mechanisms
in response to bacterial pathogens that can cause mastitis in dairy cattle.
The incumbent is an independent investigator and a team member for the
research projects related to mitigation strategies to control mastitis.
Basic research such as state-of-the-art molecular techniques will be used to
better understand host defense mechanisms with the goal of finding applied
solutions to better treat and prevent mastitis.
