Subject: Joint PhD studentship on dairy cattle resilience at
       Roslin, UK and SLU, Sweden
Date: Mon, 21 Nov 2022 17:10:53 -0600

We are offering an exciting 4-year PhD studentship on Breeding Dairy Cattle
for Increased Resilience and Health for candidates interested in statistical
genetics. The studentship will use a rich dataset consisting of genetic,
performance and health data of cattle populations in Sweden to develop and
validate novel genetic resilience indicators of dairy cattle. The
studentship offers the PhD student the opportunity to make a strong
contribution to the scientific statistical genetics field, and to the global
sustainability goal of generating more resilient livestock. The student
will benefit from a multidisciplinary supervisory team and research
environment in two world leading animal-bioscience institutes: the Roslin
Institute, University of Edinburgh, UK & Swedish University of Agricultural
Sciences.
