UC Davis.

The focus of this position is to develop computational biology and
bioinformatics programs to analyze high-throughput data set generated from
next generation sequencing including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, single-
cell sequencing, Pac Bio Iso-seq, and CAGE-seq data among others. The
candidate will have opportunity to work or participate on multiple funded
genomics projects: “High throughput characterization of gene transcript
variants by full-length single-molecule sequencing to improve farm animal
genome annotation” “Functional annotation and validation of regulatory
elements in the chicken genome” “Epigenetic control of preimplantation
development”. There will be great opportunities to collaborate and/or
interact with bioinformatic scientists at the UC Davis Genome Center and
bioinformatic institutes across the world.

Candidates should have some background in two or more of the following
areas: bioinformatics, biological system modeling, genomics, biology and
statistics. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated ability to: 1)
Perform data analyses using next generation sequencing data; 2) Familiarity

protein translation; 3) Familiarity with bioinformatic tools and concepts.

The candidate should be exposed or have knowledge in programming language,
R, Perl and C++, SQL and Java. Candidates with PhD or Masters in
Bioinformatics/biostatistics, Computational Biology, Genomics, and
Molecular Genetics/Microbiology fields are highly desired. This position
