biology that applies cutting-edge cell and molecular biology approaches
to address issues central to animal agriculture and human health.

Individuals with research programs focused on molecular aspects of muscle
cell energy utilization and metabolism; muscle protein production and
turnover; or extra-/intra- cellular mechanisms regulating fetal and/or
postnatal muscle growth using one or more mammalian or avian model

and Land O’ Lakes Center for Experiential Learning.  Excellent core
facilities exist on campus including imaging, high throughput screening,
proteomics, metabolite profiling, bioinformatics, high-performance
computing, and transgenic animal facilities.

The College:

The Department of Animal Sciences is an integral part of the College of
Agriculture, one of the world’s leading colleges of agricultural, food,
life, and natural resource sciences and ranked sixth in the US in the
2019 QS World University Rankings. The College is deeply committed to
the three land-grant missions (teaching, research, and extension), to
international activities and perspectives that span all missions, and
to excellence in all we do.  The College has 11 academic departments
and includes 300 faculty, 2841 undergraduate students, and 740 graduate
students. The College’s strategic plan can be accessed at
