Subject: Workshops on Practical Data Skills and Software
       Reproducibility
Date: Wed, 21 Aug 2019 09:19:09 -0500

Registration is now open for the two workshops on "Practical Data and
Software Skills for Reproducible Research" in October in Rome at the
University of Arkansas Rome Center.

"Practical Data Skills " on 2-3 October, focuses on FAIR data stewardship
and Open Science skills. This workshop is suitable for a non-technical
audience.

"Practical Software Reproducibility" on 3-4 October, focuses on
reproducibility challenges in computing and introduces free reproducibility
technologies like version control (git/GitHub), containerization (Docker)
and Notebooks. While the course is not overly technical and requires no
programming experience, basic knowledge of the command line would be
beneficial.

More information about the workshops, as well as the registration, can be
found here http://bit.ly/foss-rome-19 . Registration for each workshop is
only $40 USD to cover facility and refreshment costs.

The workshops are organized by the University of Arkansas in collaboration
with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, the National Research Council of Italy,
Earlham Institute, Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), the
Netherlands eScience Center and the University of Arizona.
