Assistant/Associate Professor in Animal Science

Lincoln University of Missouri, Jefferson City, MO is seeking highly
motivated, creative individuals to apply for an Assistant/Associate
Professor position of Animal Science, with a preferred emphasis of animal
production, reproduction management and biotechnology application,
optimizing animal health and productivity, and assisting farmers to
increase animal farming sustainability and profitability. This is a 12-
month, federal-funded, non-tenure track, and full benefit-eligible faculty
position in the College of Agriculture, Environmental, and Human Sciences
with 75:25% research and teaching or extension responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to develop a
high-impact, nationally recognized research and extension or teaching
program to address the critical or emergent issues in relevance to the
ruminant industry, conduct innovative laboratory/field research and
outreach activities, write grant proposals for extramural, competitive
funding to support research and extension programs, publish research
findings in peer-reviewed journals, collaborate with faculty within the
University and other institutions, and contribute to relevant professional
societies. The incumbent may be required to teach courses relevant to their
expertise, supervise graduate students, provide department, college and
university service or any other duty as assigned. The position is also
expected to work with University's research farm employees, facility
managers, extension educators, producers, and industry partners.

QUALIFICATIONS: Individual is sought with a Ph.D. in animal science, animal
production, reproduction management and biotechnology application, or
closely related field. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to conduct
quality research, extension or teaching activities, publish research
articles in impactful peer-reviewed journals, and secure extramural funding
through grant proposal. Experience of postdoctoral research and teaching is
preferred. Background with agricultural experimental design, data
management and biostatistics is highly desirable. Interpersonal, effective
oral and written communication skills, and willingness and ability to work
in a team-oriented environment with a diverse group of faculty are
essential.
