Dear all,

A two-year position is available at the INRA Toulouse research center
(France) from September 2019 to develop bioinformatics tools and pipelines
for the analysis of "omics" sequencing data (FAANG action, GENE-SWitCH EU
project).

*Two-year bioinformatics position at INRA Toulouse, France*

*Level*: Engineer/Technician - “*Ingénieur(e) d’Etude*”

*Domain*: bioinformatics, genome annotation, computational biology,
biostatistics, data science

*Duration*: 24 months (2 years)

*Starting date*: September 2019 if possible

*Location*: GenPhySE unit, INRA Toulouse, 31320 Auzeville-Tolosane, France

*Salary*: gross income around 35-40KE/year for a full time employment

*Contact*: *sylvain.foissac@inra.fr* *sarahqdgmail.com*

*Mission*

In the context of the European project GENE-SWitCH we are looking for an
enthusiastic bioinformatician to help analyse “omics” data for the
Functional Annotation of ANimal Genomes (http://www.faang.org/). Data to
be processed will mostly come from sequencing-based molecular assays like
RNA-seq, miRNA-seq, IsoSeq, WGBS/RRBS, ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq. The
post-holder will design, test, implement and update bioinformatics analysis
pipelines in collaboration with partners from the hosting lab, the local
bioinformatics platform/team, the GENE-SWitCH project, the FAANG consortium
and the scientific community worldwide. Developments will mostly use
existing tools to generate open-source pipelines in workflow-management
systems (e.g. SnakeMake or NextFlow), to be shared and deployed via virtual
machines, containers and portable software environments (e.g. conda). The
post-holder will share and discuss the results with the scientific
collaborators during face-to-face meetings, teleconferences, written reports
and scientific presentations.

*Required skills & experience *

 - Solid experience in designing and running bioinformatics pipelines to
analyze large-scale sequencing data, if possible using workflow/software
   management tools and environments.

 - Proficiency in programming under Linux environment. Languages: Python is
required, others would help (bash, R, C++, etc).

 - Good communication skills. Languages: English is needed, French would
   help.

 - Positive and proactive thinking.

*How to apply *

Before the 8th of August 2019, send a short email (1-3 paragraphs max) to
briefly introduce yourself and your situation, with an attached CV/resume
in pdf format (1-2 pages max) to *sylvain.foissacinra.fr* and
*sarahqdgmail.com*

Application deadline: 08/08/2019.
