Job announcement

The Department of Livestock Population Genomics at the Institute of
Animal Science of the University Hohenheim invites applications for a

Research Associate position

with 100% of the regular working hours (currently 39.8 hours per week),
initially for the duration of 3 years with possible extension for at
least 3 years after successful evaluation. Salary according to scale TV-L
E13. The start date October, 1st 2019 or by agreement.

We are seeking a talented candidate with strong capacities for
interdisciplinary teamwork, communication and organizational skills, who
should have received a doctoral degree in the field of
Genetics/Agricultural Biology/Evolutionary Biology. A solid background in
population genetics, evolutionary biology, bioinformatics and a variety
of molecular techniques is required. Experiences in the analyses of
genomes and high-throughput sequencing data are essential. Participation
in moderate teaching at Bachelor/Master level (4 Semester periods per
week) is expected. The successful candidate may set up her/his own
research initiative linked to the interaction of livestocks (poultry,
honey bees) with their abiotic and biotic environment at the molecular
level in a stimulating scientific environment with well equipped research
laboratories and animal facilities (see also
