Date: Fri, 14 Dec 2018 09:05:38 -0600

We’re looking to recruit a Bioinformatician to work across the Institute
in collaboration with a wide range of research groups. If anyone would like
to chat about the role and its potential development then please don’t
hesitate to contact me at Andy.Lawroslin.ed.ac.uk

The main part of the Job Advert reads thus:

Applicants are invited for a Computational Biology Analyst/Research Fellow
to join the Roslin Institute and to contribute to the successful execution
of projects across the full range of the Institute’s research portfolio.
The post will be based in the Division of Genetics and Genomics as part of
Dr Andy Law’s group but will interact with scientists across the entire
Institute.

The Roslin Institute has a wide-ranging research remit, including
developmental biology, animal and plant breeding, genetics, genomics and
the pathology of and resistance to infectious diseases both within the UK
and world-wide. There are extensive collaborations with scientists working
on problems of direct relevance to Low- and Middle-Income Countries. As
part of the University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary
Studies, there is also a strong clinically-focussed strand of research.

This is an opportunity for an experienced bioinformatician to contribute to
a large number of important research projects within the School and wider
afield. The successful candidate will have extensive bioinformatics
experience (ideally with a PhD in a relevant subject and postdoctoral
experience) including existing expertise in multiple methods of sequence
analysis and/or other bioinformatics methodologies in line with the duties
of the posts and as outlined in the Job Description.
