       architecture
Date: Fri, 07 Dec 2018 07:10:11 -0600

The Department of Crop Sciences at Georg-August-Universität, in
Göttingen, Germany, is looking to fill an open position for a

Postdoctoral Research Associate

with full time employment (100%, currently 39.8 hours per week), with
a limited contract for 3 years. Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L.

Your duties will include conducting research in the area of plant
quantitative genetics, specifically involving methodologies to
predict the number of loci controlling measured traits. Your tasks
will primarily involve computational, analytical, and theoretical
work, but may also include time in the field and/or lab. Your work
will take place in the research group of Professor Timothy
Beissinger. In addition to your research-related responsibilities,
you will teach courses as defined in Section 31 of the Higher

Quantitative Genetics, Population Genetics, Plant/Animal breeding,
Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field and have an interest
in methods development. The applicant's willingness to work in a
collaborative research group, which requires proficiency in the
English language, is critical. Candidates should have a demonstrated
ability to present their work at scientific meetings, publish
results, and teach effectively. Please note: fluency in German is not
required.

This post is designed to foster the careers of young researchers and

contact information for 1-3 references to Professor Timothy
