    Animals:Milk samples of 10,151 first lactation cows in 2,618 herds were collected. Animals were crosses between Dutch Friesians and Holstein-Friesians.
     Breeds associated:
    Design:Significance was tested using a likelihood ratio test.
    Analysis:Milk, fat, and protein yield, and fat and protein percent were adjusted individually for fixed effects using a fixed model.
