    Animals:Animals were Japanese Black or Japanese Brown cattle.
     Breeds associated:
    Design:Animals were genotyped for 38 microsatellite markers and 5 SNPs in the region of interest on chromosome 6, then analyzed for carcass and body weight.
    Analysis:Interval mapping using a linear regression model was performed. An association analysis was also carried out between SNPs in 6 genes and carcass weight.
