Aquaculture - Molecular Biology Positions

AquaBounty Technologies is seeking motivated scientists for research positions in aquaculture genetics and molecular biology. One full time research scientist and one post-doctoral position are available. We are expanding our research team in Prince Edward Island, Canada with a focus on characterization of transgenic lines of Atlantic salmon. A strong background in animal genetics or molecular biology is required, with some experience in any of the following areas preferred:
  1. Aquaculture research including:
    • Selective breeding
    • Ploidy manipulation
    • Gynogenesis and sex reversal
    • Gamete cryopreservation
    • Nutrition
    • Animal health Physiology
  2. Molecular biology research including:
    • Genomics
    • Recombinant DNA techniques
    • Quantitative genetics
    • Bioinformatics
  3. Research experience in a GLP or other type of strictly controlled regulatory environment.
Post-doctoral position:
  • Eligibility for an NSERC Industrial Research and Development Fellowship is preferred.
Candidates must be independent, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with problem-solving expertise are essential. A Ph.D or other advanced degree is preferred.
