From camon@ebi.ac.uk Thu Mar 8 05:37:14 2007 Date: Thu, 08 Mar 2007 11:38:47 +0000 From: Evelyn Camon Subject: Gene Ontology Annotation Releases : Bovine, Chicken and others To: Multiple Recipients of Hi I would you like to alert you to our latest Gene Onrtology annotation release files which include specific annotation files for Bovine and Chicken sequences while other animals wil be found in our all species GOA- UniProt files. This release uses Ensembl version 43. kind regards, Evelyn Camon GOA releases: March 2007 =========================== GOA (GO Annotation@EBI) is a project run by the European Bioinformatics Institute that aims to provide assignments of gene products to the Gene Ontology (GO) resource. The data can be obtained via: EBI FTP: ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/GO/goa/ EBI SRS: http://srs.ebi.ac.uk. Search GOA data library GO FTP: ftp://ftp.geneontology.org/pub/go/gene-associations/ GO CVS: http://www.geneontology.org/GO.CVS.help.html For further information read: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/GOA or contact goa@ebi.ac.uk. GOA News Update: ***************** Users of the species-specific GOA gene association files (for the human, mouse, rat, arabidopsis, zebrafish, chicken and cow IPI proteomes), may notice the disappearance of a few InterPro2GO annotations this month, as InterPro2GO annotations originating from Prosite pattern matches without a 'known' match status are no longer incorporated into these files. This change will not affect the GOA UniProt gene association file and proteomes files as such a restriction has always been in place. In addition, we would like to clarify that the electronic annotations provided by the Ensembl Compara pipeline use manual GO annotations from GOA's January release in combination with ortholog data from the current (43) Ensembl release.
